1 in 8 Minnesota children are at risk of hunger.

Over 1/3 of clients served by the Second Harvest Heartland network report needing to choose between using money for food or to pay for utulities or heat.

Kids can't learn if they come to school hungry.

Every year, low-income Minnesotans miss 125 million meals. Visits to food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and programs in the Second Harvest Heartland network have increased by more than 40% since 2008.

For every $1 donated to Second Harvest Heartland through the Minnesota Department of Education's 8th Annual Food and Fund Drive Second Harvest Heartland can districtbute $9 worth of nutritous food and groceries to the places and inviduals who need it most. Every $10 donation generates 37 meals that might otherwise be missed by hungry people in our community.
