Play sparks learning. Play builds character. Play shapes perceptions. Minnesota Children’s Museum Rochester of seeks to foster a community of smart play where children’s curiosity is nurtured and creativity is encouraged. What began as a dream shared between a committed group of Rochester parents, educators, and community leaders is now becoming a reality. With a target open date of winter, 2012, MCMR hopes to open its doors to 30,000 visitors in its first year.

The vision is simple: MCMR will inspire and illuminate, entertain and inform, stimulate and educate. Unlike more traditional museums, MCMR will be a lively, family-friendly campus where kids learn through play. Interactive activities and exhibits will be designed specifically to develop kids’ gross and fine motor skills and to enhance children’s creativity, curiosity, and unique learning styles. Our goal is to stimulate learning through hands-on experiences.
Opening in winter 2012, MCMR will offer innovative learning experiences and hands-on educational programming for the children and families of Rochester. Help us make this the best possible place for children to learn through play!
Get jumpy. Get bubbly. Get splashy. Get messy. Get ready! We’re almost there! We’re growing by leaps and bounds every day and your early support will lay the foundation for our long-term success.
