Your support of Midwest Energy News will help deliver the energy stories that need to be seen.

Midwest Energy News helps you stay up to date on the energy issues that matter to you.

Midwest Energy News is a daily collection of the top energy stories of importance to the Midwest region. We keep stakeholders, policymakers, and citizens informed of the important changes taking place as the Midwest shifts from fossil fuels to a clean energy system.

Midwest Energy News helps uncover important stories through independent reporting.

Midwest Energy News publishes original journalism written by independent freelance reporters, usually on a weekly basis. We make these stories available for republication, and our work has appeared in the Star Tribune, Twin Cities Daily Planet, Grist, SolveClimate News and other outlets.

We depend on support from people like you to deliver the stories that need to be seen.

We depend entirely on foundation and individual support. Unlike many websites specializing in energy issues, we are not affiliated with the industry in any way. Your gift will help put skilled journalists to work covering what we feel is the most important story of the century.

Please help the public understand the true natre of oil companies. Oil Spill Commission's Finding and Recommendations published Jan 2011 make clear that "speeding up the drilling lease approval process isn't going to lower gas or change our oil dependent transportation system (ever).
