We're the people who successfully advocated for the construction of the Midtown Greenway. Your donations help us protect and enhance it!
The Midtown Greenway Coalition is the grassroots organization that successfully advocated for installation of the Midtown Greenway by public agencies. The Coalition continues to engage our community in protecting, improving, and using the Greenway.
The Greenway is good for the environment, good for health, and good for the community! Since the Greenway was completed, the number of people commuting to work in Minneapolis has increased by 75%, and we have become known as the #1 biking community in the USA.
Your support helps us:
We are a coalition of neighborhoods and individuals. We grow stronger with each new donation and each new member. Join us!
"We can trace much of the city's bike renaissance to the Midtown Greenway, a 5.5-mile former railroad opened in 2000 that has since has become a non-automotive superhighway. Cyclists and pedestrians can hop on and off at various points with ease, and the striking Martin Olav Sabo Bridge sends cyclists over busy Hiawatha Avenue. The path even has its own dedicated bike shop complete with bike parking, water, bathrooms, and showers for commuters. Basically, it's a cyclist's dream."
