METROPOLITAN AREA AGENCY ON AGING INC
A US registered nonprofit
The Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging (MAAA) is the designated area agency on aging for the seven county metropolitan area. Area agencies on aging were established Older Americans Act to respond to the needs of Americans aged 60 and over in every local community. Minnesota's seven area agencies on aging are designated by Board on Aging to provide three critical functions: OAA funding administration, community planning and service development, and information and assistance.
Mission
In partnerships with public and private organizations, MAAA helps elders age successfully. It does this by building community capacity, advocating for aging issues, maximizing service effectiveness and linking people with information.
Values
- Elders are integral assets to our communities.
- Individuals have both rights and responsibilities as they age.
- Respect for cultural diversity will inform every aspect of our work.
- Partnerships with stakeholders are essential to achieving our goals.
- Thoughtful stewardship of all resources is the foundation for high quality service.
