The Mesabi Community Orchestra provides quality orchestral musical performances in communities on the Iron Range.

The Mesabi Community Orchestra (MCO) is a community of talented musicians hailing from the communities of Aurora, Ely, Gilbert, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, Virginia, Chisholm and Hibbing. The mission of the MCO is to provide its members and audience an opportunity to grow in knowledge and appreciation of music through quality orchestral performances.

We need your support

Until recently, the MCO has received funding and support from the Mesabi Range Community and Technical College. Due to policy and funding priority changes, this support is no longer available.

The average cost for each perfomance is between $6,000 and $10,000 depending on the concert. We are thrilled the upcoming performance season with 3 exciting concerts; November, February, and May.

The Mesabi Community Orchestra is a frugal organization that will use your contribution wisely. Your support is instrumental to bring classical music to communities on the Iron Range. Your generous financial support will be used fund:

  • The purchase of music scores
  • Rent on rehearsal space
  • Provide refreshments at concerts
  • Rent the highest quality performance spaces

Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar AND we will be giving away free tickets for donors through out the day.

Please consider making a donation on Give to the Max Day, Wednesday, November 16th. This is a special day!

Thank you match fund donors!

Classical music is great for the community, the schools, and the enrichment of our area. What would the world be like without Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Copeland, Rutter, Sibelius....... let's keep them alive and well on the Iron Range.
