Mission Trip to Haiti -Urban Refuge

Our church, The Urban Refuge Minneapolis, has felt a calling to help the people of Haiti and running trips to this area for a little over 3 years now. In 2011 alone our church location packed 286,200 meals. Our family of combined churches packed even more! Now it is time to go there and help with meal distribution :-)

I have felt a calling to go on the next trip and am raising money to fund my portion of the trip as well as purchasing more meals. We will be distributing meals as well as building water purification systems and then training others on water purification systems so that the work will continue in between trips.

Some Things to Consider:

I know that I tend to take what I have for granted. I think of what I spend my money on... How easy is it to spend $10 at Caribou? or $50 at Target? and be left with not a lot to show for it... What if you could spend that same amount and help save lives?

I felt called to give some of my time, prayer, and finances to helping one of the poorest areas of Haiti. Each dollar we donate pays for 4.34 meals. Every little bit helps ! Couldnt you spare $10-20 to help actually SAVE lives?

I know times are tough so any help is GREATLY appreciated by myself and your prayers for the people of Haiti are needed more than ever.
