Mark & Charlie’s Cookie Cart Challenge is a recipe for the lgbt community to support a great organization that helps Twin Cities youth.
We love the Cookie Cart because it truly succeeds in giving kids the chance to learn real life skills. Charlie’s parents both volunteered at the Cookie Cart for years and as a lifelong retailer (and lover of cookies) his dad felt it was a great way to give back after retiring.
We have been supporting the Cookie Cart for 10 years and would like the lgbt community to be a major part of this capacity building. One major part of the campaign will be to open a Cookie Cart in St. Paul – so that Mark can now enjoy them at his new job!
Our challenge is an easy one – we are giving $26,250 - $5,250 every year for five years. It is our hope that the lgbt community can match our money – and most importantly that the money come from a broad spectrum of our community.
So here is how it works:
Cookies generally bake at 350 degrees so we would like to get 15 groups of people to each give $350 a year for 5 years – these groups are all part of the “350 Club”. Fifteen groups giving $350 will match our yearly $5250of giving . For example if you can give –
Whether you can give at $25 – or $2500 – the result is the same - joining other members of the Twin Cities lgbt community in making our cities better for today’s youth – the leaders of tomorrow.
