LOVE INC - HEARTLAND

In 2010 Love INC – Heartland, Love in the Name of Christ, met 15,536 needs through the help of our 1,782 volunteers, our 25 affiliate churches and your donations. Reflecting the difficult economy, our 2011 year-to-date requests for assistance are up dramatically. We supplement the services and programs available through other social service agencies. We are forever grateful to all of our supporters, in prayer, in finances, in items donated and in hours given.

Love INC – Heartland is a 501( c ) (3) non-profit agency and 87% of every dollar donated goes directly to progams and people. Any funds donated is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Love INC – Heartland serves the following communities: Corcoran, Delano, Greenfield, Howard Lake, Independence, Loretto, Maple Plain, Mayer, Montrose, Rockford, Watertown and Waverly. Our mission is to mobilize local churches to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ.

Love Stories - Changing Lives

A distraught mother arrived in our office early one morning. She introduced us to her adolescent son. She was not the custodial parent, but unexpectedly had her son dropped off at her house the night before by the relatives taking care of him. He came with his most valued possession – his mountain bike – and little else. That night his bike was stolen. The young teen had nothing of is own in this abrupt, new setting. The mother requested the basic necessities that she could not afford including deodorant, toothbrush, towels and clothing for her son. We told her we would do our best, prayed with them and they left. That day a donation from a retail store arrived and had everything she had asked for. Proving how He loves us – down to the details – a second generous donation that day included a new mountain bike!

A neighbor we will call Christina came to us needing car repairs. Her car was old and falling apart but she couldn’t afford a new one. Love INC contacted a gentleman who had offered to help with automotive repair for those in need. Christina’s car needed major front end repair that would have cost her over $3000 at a repair shop. Living on a limited income, that bill might as well have been a million dollars. But our God is amazing. You see, Christina designs web pages and this gentleman knew he needed a web page to expand his business. They worked out the cost between them. God not only repairs cars, he repairs lives.

Love INC – Heartland gets at least two or three calls per week for mattresses. We all know how much a good night’s sleep means – how bad sleep can wreck the next day. Now try sleeping on the hard floor night after night, with only a blanket to keep you warm. You don’t have crisp sheets to crawl between or a fluffy pillow to rest your head on. Somehow, God always helps us to find a way to provide a bed. God must know how important a good night’s rest is.
