As you probably know, the Longfellow Community Council (LCC) is Longfellow’s neighborhood organization, and we’re dedicated to making Longfellow the best neighborhood it can be. We’re the neighborhood’s “go-to” source for questions about development, safety, livability, and building community. LCC listens to your feedback about what’s important to you in Longfellow – everything from cleaning up the Mississippi River to improving the timing of the traffic lights on Hiawatha! Then we organize events and work with our neighbors, policy makers, and government officials to improve our neighborhood.

In 2012, with the support of our neighborhood, LCC:

• Facilitated activities to address crime in Longfellow including a three-part panel series called "Pathways to Peace" which focused on community oriented solutions to crime and conflict
• Partnered with the Volunteers of America (VOA) transitional housing facility and provided community engagment opportunities and job training to over 40 residents at the VOA
• Funded 15 Little Free Libraries
• Installed artwork along storefronts on Lake Street.
• Carried out extensive research on quality of life issues along the Hiawatha corridor through the CARE project
• And so much more!

We’ve achieved so much – but we need your support to make sure Longfellow continues to be a great neighborhood!
