Provide hope and healing for individuals and families through one-on-one prayer ministry

Lois Seashore loved life. She loved playing with her grandson, Alden, teaching kids and praying for hurtiing people.

In 2001, Lois Seashore called Prayer Ventures for help. Lois was a single mom, working two jobs. She was in the midst of a crisis. A PV ministry team surrounded her with love and care. They listened. They prayed. Lois experienced the life-changing power of God in a way she never had before.

Through that prayer session and others like it she discovered new hope, new strength, new joy . . . and a new calling and purpose in life.

In 2004, Lois became Director of Prayer Ministry for Prayer Ventures. She knew what it felt like to be desperate and hurting and she was eager to help others in desperate situations. Through prayer she knew people could find the hope and healing they needed. During the next four years Lois helped train and mentor volunteer prayer ministers who prayed for hundreds of people.

In 2008, Lois faced a desperate situation again: breast cancer. She battled the disease with incredible courage; her faith deepened. She grew in compassion for others and generosity of spirit.

Toward the end of her life these words meant everything to her: “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done” (Psalm 118:17). Even though Lois is gone, her courage and passion to share God’s love with hurting people lives on through this ministry.

The Lois Seashore Memorial Fund honors Lois and provides much needed funds for the ministry she felt so passionate about.

We offer prayer ministry on a donation basis so that everyone who wants prayer receives it. However, many of the people we serve cannot afford a contribution—single moms, the unemployed or chronically ill.

Even though prayer is freely given by dedicated volunteers, there are significant costs in providing this service. Your support will enable us to train more prayer teams and serve more people in need.

When the phone rings we want to be there for people who need our help. Thank you for giving and helping us answer that call.

Make a donation on this site or send a check made payable to Prayer Ventures to 8644 Wood Cliff Circle, Bloomington MN 55438.

I continue to remember Lois as a powerful example of God's love being poured out among people through the act of prayer. Her passionate faith and her confidence that God is present in even the worst of situations was inspirational to me and to so many others. This fund is a wonderful way to remember her and to enable prayer ministry, that she cared so deeply about, to continue to reach those in need of God's healing touch.

Lois had a passion for prayer ministry to those who are hurting, ill and lost, and I want to see this ministry continue to expand in the future. I encourage all who were inspired by Lois to continue to support this ministry.
