A project of LIFE HOUSE INCORPORATED
The Life House “Adopt-A-Kid” Program educates the community about the issues facing homeless kids while providing an opportunity for hope.
In February 2014, Life House is featuring the story of Tiffany:
"Without Life House, I would still be hanging out with the wrong crowd."
As a young woman, Tiffany describers herself as outgoing, a "go-getter" and ready to get things done. However, at age 16 Tiffany found herself wandering the streets of Duluth with nowhere to go. She knew she needed help to stop making bad choices.
That's when Tiffany found Life House.
Tiffany heard about Life House from her older sister. She realized it was a safe place to eat food and hang out, and she began to visit more often. Soon, she connected with Life House staff for help with school goals. Today, Tiffany is building skills toward getting a job and is on track to finish her GED.
"Life House helped me get on the right path. Thank you, Life House!"
At Life House, around 35-50 teens each day like Tiffany walk through our doors. Some have suffered through histories of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
What makes them all the same is they need a helping hand - a door of opportunity to a world where they can be safe, healthy, and have a real future. Simply put…
Homeless doesn’t have to mean Hopeless.
Just $29 / month will Open a Door of opportunity for homeless kids to a world where they can be safe, healthy, and able to grow.
