Our mission is to respect the life choices and dreams of people with developmental disabilities and help them achieve their goals.

The environments we offer at Laura Baker Services include:

OAK STREET RESIDENTIAL SERVICES: We provide support in five residential households of six people each for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR) for ages 16 and over at 211 Oak Street in Northfield, MN. Each household is fully staffed 24 hours a day.

THE LAURA BAKER SCHOOL: Students ages 5-22 receive individualized instruction in basic academics, daily living skills, community access and future vocational opportunities. Our regular school year runs from September through June and a 12-week summer program is also offered.

SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES: We have four homes in the greater Northfield community for up to four clients each. All supported living clients are served 24 hours a day.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES: Laura Baker Services Association's Family Support Services program and the Northfield Area Family YMCA are proud to announce a new youth and family collaboration.

Current YMCA programs "School's Out Days", "Kids Night at the Y" and "Family Nights" are now accessible for families raising kids with developmental disabilities. We are excited to work together to strengthen families and connect with kids from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Coming this summer we will continue this exciting collaboration to include quality time at Grandpa's Farm during YMCA camps for all kids ages 3-14.

SEMI-INDEPENDENT LIVING: We provide support to people ages 18 and over who may live on their own or with roommates. Typically, clients receive 10-30 hours of direction support a month.

IN-HOME/HOMEMAKER SERVICES: For people with developmental disabilities of any age, we provide support in their home in the areas identified by each person's team, including housekeeping and home maintenance. We can also provide homemaker services.
