LAKES AND PINES COMMUNITY ACTION COUNCIL INC

The mission of Lakes and Pines is to build prosperous communities by serving local families and individuals in their pursuit of self-reliance.

Lakes and Pines works towards completing this mission by providing families and individuals with a variety of services. These include; energy assistance, weatherization, housing assistance, small city development, Head Start, transportation, and financial services.

Energy Assistance Services
Assistance in meeting household’s home heating bill
Assistance in repair or replacement of a failing furnace
Emergency assistance in the case of utility shutoff notices or non-delivery of fuel notices

Weatherization Services
Agency crews and contractors help reduce home energy costs through installation of insulation, weather-stripping, and caulking

Housing Assistance Services
Assistance in moving
Assistance in the procurement of damage deposit and first month’s rent
Assistance in the prevention of eviction and foreclosure
Assistance in the procurement of transitional housing
Possible financing to eligible households to make basic permanent repairs to their homes

Small City Development Program
Works towards procuring grants for small cities and townships through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development

Head Start Programs
Provide preschool development for children ages 0 to 3 and 3 to 5 through four models which include; Home-Base, Child Care Center, Family Child Care, and Homeless

Transportation Services
Assistance in procuring emergency car repair loans

Financial Services
Tax preparation assistance
