Join with Keystone Community Services as we help families, seniors and youth facing extraordinary challenges to live with dignity and hope.
KEYSTONE IS ABOUT PEOPLE — people who need a helping hand and people who are willing to give it. Keystone volunteers and donors make a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of people in the St. Paul area and beyond through Keystone's extensive network of services. Please join us!
• FOODSHELVES/BASIC NEEDS — Feeding families in crisis Rita worked as a software developer for 20 years until debilitating arthritis made work too difficult for her. With monthly foodshelf assistance from Keystone, she is able to get by on her disability income. Donors and volunteers play an essential role in this lifeline service needed by so many families in our community — hosting food drives, making donations of food and cash, and working as volunteers.
• MEALS ON WHEELS — Bringing a smile and a meal to the homebound At 91 years of age, Sally no longer drives and has no family living in the area. She suffers from macular degeneration, diabetes and other health problems. But with the support of Keystone Meals on Wheels, this spirited St. Paulite gets by just fine in her tidy home. Meals on Wheels helps homebound elderly and disabled adults to remain living independently at home. Besides delivering a nutritious meal to the door, Meals on Wheels volunteers provide an important "safety check" for vulnerable adults.
• ACTIVE SENIORS — Finding friends and enjoying fellowship John is widowed and spends a lot of time alone in his home. So he values the chance to get out of the house and spend time with friends at Keystone's Active Senior Program — playing cards, taking an exercise class and enjoying parties and outings. Keystone's Senior Center is a hub of fun and fellowship for adults 55 and up, supporting the independence of seniors and enhancing their quality of life.
• HMONG YOUTH & FAMILY PROGRAM — Navigating between two cultures "We want to keep the kids in the program on the positive path, out of gangs, focused on education and doing well in school. It's about building self-esteem." — Keystone instructor in the Hmong Youth & Family Program. In this after-school and summer program, Hmong youth find a safe and positive place to navigate the path between two cultures. Homework assistance, Hmong dance, small group support and mentoring by older teens are just some of the program's offerings.
• CASE MANAGEMENT FOR SENIORS, DISABLED ADULTS AND FAMILIES — Supporting self-sufficiency “I don't have any family, so it's nice to have someone like Danielle be concerned about me.” — James, 72, a Keystone case management client. Keystone case managers listen, assist and support individuals who need extra help in maintaining their self-sufficiency and independence.
