Julie Werner fundraising for PINE COMMUNITY FOOD SHELF
The Boy Scouts hold a food drive each year in October. Your donation has great value to individuals who use the food shelf services.
The Pine Community Food Shelf has served the Pine City Community since 1995. We are open to serve the public 20 hours a week ~ Monday and Wednesday 10-4 and Thursday 11-7.
Come to visit us; you will see that we have a walk in refrigerator and several freezers. We can accept any type of food donation. We do have a good supply of food but because of the economy, cash is in short supply. There are many expenses related to the operation of the food shelf such as utilities, insurance and office expense.
The Pine Community Food Shelf is an IRS 501(c)(3) non profit. We offer many services to the community including volunteer and donation opportunities, information and referral and food shelf services for the needy of the area. Our director serves on many committees in the community such as Pine Counity Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, and Community Health Servies.
Just recently, a man came into use the food shelf services. He has lived here for 4 months and this was the 3rd time he had come here for food. When our director spoke to him, he finally understood what he needed to do and where he could go for much of the help he so desperatly needed. We are here to give food for the temporary emergency and information and direction for the future. We sit down with each customer and counsel them on the oportunities that this community offers. Everyone receives informational handouts about many resources.
Please help us continue to not only provide food to individuals in the Pine City area but also the ability to research, prepare and offer handout resources to our customers and the community.
