Jennifer Paidosh fundraising for Pay It Forward Fund Summer Walk

In 2008, my girlfriend, Diane, convinced me to do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Laura, my neighbor, was my training and pink tent partner. Then in 2009, we went to Phoenix and did it again. This time we had a team of 4, my niece Angie from Salt Lake City joined us. Both times were incredible experiences, we enjoyed the walk and considered making it an annual girls' weekend! My initial thought was to do something for someone else. I had a couple of friends and distant relatives that had had breast cancer but not in my immediate family and not in my wildest dreams, me.

Then in July of 2010, it hit me! It was unbelievable. Steve and I had just gotten home from an incredible trip to France, I had drunk the holy water at Lourdes and prayed for EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY . How could this be happening to me? My surgery was in September and in October, my oncologist, Dr. Bloom told me that I was cured. Dr. Bretsche had gotten all the cancer - in both breasts! No chemo, no radiaton, no tamoxifen. Just seeing him 2x a year for 5 years. This was and is my MIRACLE from visting Lourdes, France. I fit into this category now, I'm a breast cancer survior, still unbelievable. I was touched by the 3-Day and now I am walking for me, for my 7 year old daughters and all of you women and men. It seems not if but when.

Pay It Forward is currently paying over $20,000 per month to help patients buy groceries, pay their mortgages, heat their homes, keep their lights and water on, and repair their cars so they can drive to chemo.
