IOCP responds to emergency needs, moves families toward stability, and engages volunteers and partners in service and capacity building.
IOCP offers help with housing, employment, child care, food and transportation. All donations made on Nov. 14, Give to the Max Day, will support our annual Sleep Out campaign, which provides help and creates hope for 1,777 struggling families in the communities we serve.
Grow the Mo(mentum)!
Today’s headlines tell the story. Suburban poverty is on the rise. What does that mean for our local community? Increasing numbers of families are turning to us for help. People who truly have nowhere else to turn. People in crisis and under immense distress. People who need help with the basics–food, clothing, shelter, child care, transportation and employment. People who need a plan and an opportunity to reach long-term stability. Our people.
In the past year, the number of families served jumped 6%.
The good news is, as the need has increased, so has community support. Volunteers have stepped up in a big way. Donors in this community continue to be incredible. In last year’s Sleep Out campaign, 2,931 donors raised $1,910,000. Simply amazing!
We need to keep and “grow the mo” to catch up with present and projected need.
We’ll need you…and whoever you can bring along to reach the 2013 Sleep Out goal of $2,067,000 to help families stabilize and get on the path to new and hopeful futures.
