The mere fact that there is a list of the 515 Minnesota statutes that discriminate against same-sex couples and their families is remarkable. Progress can only be made if people are knowledgeable about the issues at hand. Project 515 exists to address this exact issue.

Opinions differ over whether the appropriate path to equality is legislation or litigation. Project 515 doesn't endorse one or the other, and has this to say:

"Project 515 Education Campaign recognizes that conversations must occur throughout the state before there can be positive movement toward relationship equality. We believe now is the time to talk about the discrimination families face from Minnesota’s current laws. We will continue to educate Minnesotans about the discrimination same-sex couples face and then let them determine the best way to achieve full equality."
