Honoring Women Worldwide raises funds to support Minnesota college women & middle school girls and boys mentoring programs.

Vision: Women Thriving Worldwide

Mission: To mobilize women across the globe to honor, recognize, and celebrate the contributions of women, and leverage their untapped leadership capabilities to positively change and thrive in our world.

The long-term results: HWW initiatives will improve the statistics and positively impact the income disparity, and safety for minority and all women. This is accomplished by HWW engaging, inspiring and enabling women to learn how to honor and respect themselves by gaining new skills and developing positive strategies to ignite their untapped leadership capabilities. Through the process of honoring themselves and each other; women learn how to become healthier, expect to settle for more, ask for what they deserve, and take a stronger leadership role in their lives, their families and their communities.

The cornerstone of these initiatives is to create a Women’s Worldwide Virtual Center and Hall of Honor to culminate in constructing a building in the Twin Cities beginning in 2015, to provide a place that calls attention worldwide to honoring women.

Honoring Women Worldwide (HWW) strives to bring multicultural, multigenerational and multifaceted women together from every walk of life, race, socio economic group and cultural background to honor and celebrate themselves and each other. HWW events, member meetings, and mentoring programs are designed to unite, connect, engage and inspire women to honor and celebrate themselves and other women locally and worldwide.

HWW events bring multicultural, multigenerational, and multifaceted women together. The women leave with new ideas and strategies to thrive. All of the events include panelists from every walk of life with diverse backgrounds and share their inspiring stories of their life's journey and ways they have learned to thrive.

HWW mentoring programs:

The Art of Honoring Leadership Mentoring Program –unique leadership development mentoring program offering first-generation, female junior and senior college students of color a rich opportunity to expand, develop, and leverage their untapped leadership capabilities to successfully enter the work world. Students are mentored by diverse female leaders from companies such as, 3M, Wells Fargo, Target and HealthPartners. At the end of the program, each mentee leaves with an individualized Roadmap-to-Success plan. HWW has received amazing results in areas such as (but not limited to), 90% improvement in understanding different cultures, 100% improvement in understanding leadership styles including their own and 60% improvement in communicating effectively with varied audiences.

Honoring Leaders of Tomorrow Mentoring Program - enables middle school students to learn from successful leaders how to develop positive leadership and life skills to enhance student achievement and build strategies to create a life giving future. The 860 students are 85% students of color, many are living at the poverty level . The curriculum is designed around the schools 10 values (for example, Respect, Honesty, Courage, etc.) and 3 P’s, to inspire students to be more punctual, prepared and polite. To accommodate the 840 students, we attracted close to 150 experienced and positive female and male role models to mentor and facilitate circles of 6-8 girls and boys. Prior to meeting in the mentoring circles, most students did not know one another. Due to the ice breaker questions, group projects, student interactions, students gained a stronger sense of belonging, built a community with their peers, learned more about themselves, each other, other cultures, practices and traditions. Furthermore, Battle Creek Middle School reported to have experienced a decrease in truancy, improved student engagement and a feeling a pride for themselves and each other.

“When you honor yourself, you change how you think, feel and behave. Thru the practice of honoring yourself and others, you feel the energy and passion to take a stronger leadership role at home, work and in your community.” - Nancy Stephan, Founder & CEO, HWW
