Four the third year in a row I will be riding the Habitat 500 bike ride to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. The Habitat 500 is a 6 day ride that traverses 500 miles of Minnesota landscape. This year that landscape is the Iron Range. The ride has 120 participants annually and raises over $300,000 each year. As you can see, each rider raises a lot of money; and, to me, habitat for humanity is a worthy cause. For the past 3 years I have logged hundreds of hours volunteering for Habitat while working on 4 habitat houses and I have met many more habitat families. They are great people who have fallen on hard times. Habitat tries to get these families back on there feet by selling them an affordable home with an interest free mortgage.
