GREAT RIVER GREENING

For 16 years, Greening has been a leader in restoring critical lands and waters. Our community-based approach has engaged more than 26,000 volunteers and hundreds of other partners, making a long-term impact by developing stewards for future generations. Together, we have planted more than 61,000 trees and shrubs and restored 4,000 acres.

This fall, we launched our most exciting and ambitious project to date, the Campaign for Forests and Freshwaters, a five-year, community-based campaign to put Minnesota on the path to clean water. This campaign will:

• Reduce pollution by 20% in threatened freshwaters,
• Improve 20,000 acres of land degrading Minnesota watersheds, and
• Engage 5,000 volunteers in this work

Greening is the only group uniquely focused on improving water quality by restoring land and good land practices. Our ecologists are well known for developing broad partnerships – including individuals, businesses, and governments – and directing those partnerships to tangible results.
