Meet Ron, a participant in our job skills training program.

Ron, formerly a printer for 11 years, lost his job during the recession. He collected unemployment insurance and worked temporary labor jobs to support his wife and two daughters. A friend suggested Ron contact Goodwill/Easter Seals where he enrolled in our Construction Skills Training program and thrived.

Upon graduation, Ron was hired by Urban Homeworks. Gradually, Ron’s responsibilities increased and today his duties include leading a home renovation crew, managing all properties, maintain all vehicles and preparing volunteer sites. Additionally, Ron earned a certificate to become a Lead Abatement Supervisor, expanding his future career options.

We help thousands of Minnesotans like Ron each year. On average, we placed three people every day in a job that allows them to provide for themselves and their family.
