Please support me as I Take Wing for Africa and jump out of a plane to raise funds for Give Us Wings
In 1999, Betsy was part of small group of women who met in the Minneapolis apartment of Mary Steiner and her daughter Shawn to discuss the formation of an organization that would strive to eradicate poverty in Kenya and Uganda.
Thirteen years later, Give Us Wings has developed and implemented a wide range of projects that have transformed the lives of thousands of destitute residents in the villages of Nyaoga, Ukunda and Ngong Kenya as well as Tororo, Uganda. With the funds raised by its passionate group of supporters, Give Us Wings can count among its achievements the creation of health clinics, clean water access, housing structures, and sustainable farming and education initiatives.
I am incredibly proud of Betsy’s work with Give Us Wings – she has been an influential force in its success and, as you know, has demonstrated her commitment to the cause by travelling to Africa and providing direct, hands-on support to the resilient people in these communities.
This summer I have made a commitment to support the great work that Betsy and Give Us Wings do for Kenya and Uganda. On July 21st, I will join a group of people who will likely be screaming “For the love of God, Give Us Wings!” as we jump from a plane at an altitude of 13,000 feet to raise additional funds to help this terrific organization continue its mission.
Will you please consider a contribution to Give Us Wings in recognition of my “taking wing for Africa” and, more importantly, to benefit the ongoing, life-changing work of Give Us Wings?
Thank you for your generosity!
