11/16 5pm Update: RSI has raised over $1275 in addition to the $2500 matching donation. Rest assured that there are still matching funds left, and donations to individual and team fundraisers for RSI WILL BE MATCHED. The ticker does not account for fundraiser matches but they will be matched. Our goal is to raise an additional $1225 by midnight to take advantage of the match dollars. Thank you for your help in achieving this goal.
Several past and current RSI board members have pledged to match donations made on 11/16/11 up to $2500! We thank them, and you, for your generous donations that will be used for our client fund.
RSI's Executive Director Jon Nelson has also stepped up to the plate. He has pledged to participate in each individual fundraiser if donations double their fundraising goals. If the HR department raises $1000 he will ride a mechanical bull, if RSI raises $5000 he will dye his hair pink, blue or green, if RSI raises $8000 he will join the "Roughing It" winter overnight camping in RSI’s parking lot and also run a mile with Jerimy in a pink tutu!
For 2011, a portion of the money raised by RSI will be going towards our client employment program at our Westbrook foster care home that serves young adults with fetal alcohol spectrum and other developmental disabilities. The employment program will support our clients by giving them income and teach them job skills necessary to live more independently.
You may remember some of our fundraising projects from last year. The Pink Tutu Runner who made good on his fund raising project and ran over 20 miles in a blizzard due to the money raised in 2010. He has made the same challenge this year. Check out all of the individual and team fundraising challenges for 2011.
Once is lucky, twice is a charm. I want to charm YOU!
