FRIENDS AND FOUNDATION OF THE NORTHFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Friends enhance the Northfield Public Library through capital purchases and improvements and support ongoing programming.
Founded in 1982, the Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library brings financial and volunteer support to our public library and sponsors activities that enhance the Library and the entire Northfield community.
Through our 2012 fundraising efforts, we hope to support the Library in its digital information initiatives (e-readers and e-books; digital magazines, and more), children's programming and Booker, and ongoing improvements to the Library's Children's, Teen, and Adult Reading Areas.
A registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit, the Friends and Foundation has led fundraising for the Public Library for more than 25 years. Over the years, Friends contributions have supported early literacy programs for children, provided seed money for important library projects, and enabled the purchase of supplies, technology for public use, and educational materials. Since 2007, the Friends and Foundation has played a particularly important role in the Library's acquisition of a new bookmobile, Booker II; the enhancement of Children's and Teen Areas; the creation of a Business and Employment Resources Area; and the enhancement of technology throughout the Library.
