The Friends of South High Foundation provides support for programs and projects at South High in Minneapolis.
The South High Foundation stands above its peers as an organization with not only drive and vision, but the power and forsight to accomplish its goals. With over 12,000 registered members, the organization focuses on development, working on improving its operations, and increasing interaction with the community. Created in 1983 by then-Principal George Dahl, Assistant Principal Jerry cady, and alum Dick Westby, the Foundation has grown significantly from its humble beginnings. Alumni, staff, and community members work through the Foundation to provide funding for South High School programs and projects, ranging from supplies in the Media Center, to funding for Assistant Coaches, to a new building on the Athletic Field, to scholarships for worthy seniors. On average over $50,000 is awarded each year in scholarships, and over $60,000 a year in grants to staff and the community. We are Proud! AND WE ARE SOUTH.
