Kids Against Hunger of Central Minnesota (KAH) is a volunteer-led, international hunger relief campaign committed to combating hunger and poverty worldwide by providing nutritious meals to those in need and engaging Central Minnesota through awareness and action.

This month, KAHCM is partnering with the United Way of the Bemidji Area to raise $22,000 and package 150,000 meals for families and communities devastated by the recent earthquake in Haiti. You can support our efforts in two ways, volunteering and donating.

GIVE.
Kids Against Hunger of Central Minnesota (KAH) needs to raise $22,000 to purchase the ingredients for the meals that will be packaged by the Bemidji community. The meals are 15 cents each. We will only package the number of meals that we have funding for.

VOLUNTEER.
United Way of Bemidji Area is leading the effort to secure and organize the 600 volunteers needed for packaging the 150,000 Fortified Rice-Soy Casserole Chicken flavored meals.
For the Love of Haiti packaging event will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area, 1600 Minnesota Ave.

200 volunteers are needed during each 1.5 hour shift. The shifts are as follows:
10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.
2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

While it isn't required, we do suggest each volunteer donate $10 on packaging day to contribute to the $22,000 goal.
