The Food Allergy Support Group of Minnesota (FASGMN) has positively impacted the lives of many families living with food allergies. We focus on children with food allergies and their caregivers. The families we help typically come to us full of fear and anxiety. The idea of preparing the next meal or sending their children to daycare or school is terrifying.

FASGMN provides hope, education and emotional support to these families by offering numerous programs designed to help them live in the real world. Some of our programs include:

  • Interactive, informational website
  • Buddy Program for individual support
  • Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered by Support) program for kids
  • Support group meetings for caregivers
  • Educational webinars
  • Annual Food Allergy Resource Fair
  • Safe family events

    The initial diagnosis of food allergies can be overwhelming. You leave the doctor's office knowing what is medically wrong, but are left to figure out how to manage life with food allergies on your own. That is where FASGMN comes in! Whether a family is facing a new diagnosis or a new milestone in their child's life, FASGMN can help teach them how to "live" with food allergies. We found this organization after my son had an anaphylactic reaction when he was 4 months old. They provided (and continue to provide) much needed support for my family as we learned to deal with multiple severe food allergies.

    FASGMN will be participating in the 2011 Give to the Max Day on November 16th. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we rely on donations and volunteers to continue our mission.     The FASGMN helps families by providing one on one support through their buddy system and community support through programs like their Food Allergy Resource Fair. The group has helped my family tremendously through our journey living with food allergies.
