Southside Charter School First Grade Quilt Block

Last year, 13 boys and girls came together as kindergartners. They learned how to be respectful and play fair clamoring through playgrounds on various field trips. They all learned to read as great stories about caring and enjoying each other's differences were shared. They explored the frontiers of numbers and science bringing home stories of the googolplex and body invaders. Skating days were always fun!

As first graders , the entire class is back again. Whatever adventures and projects await to unfold this year?

This year the school, the teachers, and the whole learning process at Southside need financial support! (State and federal level tax breaks and the recession have left schools "broke." Charter schools have been especially hard hit.) Every little bit helps.

Last year, the faculty and staff accepted pay cuts. Supply and transportation budgets have been shorn. Give our kids more so they really can help make the world a better , juster , safer, prettier place for all of us!
