Minnesota Valley Humane Society's Capital Campaign

Since 1981, MVHS has been a leader in caring for homeless animals and placing them with loving families. With one of the highest adoption rates in the nation, they have placed more than 46,000 animals over the course of the last 18 years, including 2300 animal adoptions in 2008, and over 1000 since January of this year. In addition to rescue and placement services, they provide a variety of education and outreach services, including dog and owner training; after-school activities for at-risk youth; a visitation program to area schools, nursing homes and care centers; and summer camps for elementary and middle school children. As the demand for their services grows, so does our need for a bigger, better, more efficient space. The current building is no longer adequate for our needs. It is overcrowded, energy inefficient and unhealthy, not only for the animals they serve, but also for staff and volunteers. The limited space and deteriorating conditions have hampered efforts to expand their services and community outreach. That’s why they need to move.
