Emergency Foodshelf Network is a food bank providing food and support services to its partners. We are innovative, nutritious, and local.

About the Emergency Foodshelf Network:

In 1976, the Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN) began as a coalition of food shelves to increase resources available to its 12 member food shelves. Today, EFN has grown to be a full service food bank that provides quality nutritious food and support services to over 200 hunger relief programs. EFN’s partner programs include: food shelves, on site meal programs, mobile food shelves, and reduced cost grocery programs. EFN distributes nutritious and culturally specific foods that meet the dietary needs of the many groups served by our members. EFN helped its network serve over 2 million individuals last year.

Our mission:

The Emergency Foodshelf Network’s mission is to be an innovative food bank dedicated to serving the hunger needs in our changing communities

Why we need your help:

Hunger is a hard reality for one of every ten Minnesotans. For this 10% of our community each look at the checking account balance brings up questions of which bill to pay – prescriptions? new shoes for the growing grade school student? gas for the car to go to a job interview? rent? Or groceries? Thankfully, because of donors like you and local food shelves families facing hunger can receive food to put a quality meal on the table. The number of Minnesotans struggling with hunger has doubled from 2005 to 2011

How you make a difference by supporting the Emergency Foodshelf Network:

When you donate to EFN your donation stays here in Minnesota – we make efficient use of your donations – sending 94% of each dollar donated right into our programs. Your donation helps distribute free fresh produce, quality pantry staples, and hygiene needs to our partners.

Join with your neighbors and local companies on Give to the Max Day to support EFN's local hunger relief efforts. Donations up to $1,000 will be matched by Magnetic Products & Services.
