Educating Children about the History & Heritage of a community.

Massive funding cuts have forced regional school districts to make serious cuts in programs that provide area students educational opportunities. The History Center wants to ensure the needs of children this school year and next to learn about the local history and heritage of the community in which they live are meet.

Your gift today of $160.00 will allow the History Center to cover the costs associated with student field trips in both the spring and fall as well as the Hands on History event in the Fall. These are the cost that would normally be incurred by a school district including transportation and to the History Center of Olmsted County when bringing in professional presenters for Hands on History. The History Center will waive the fees associated with the tours by engaging volunteer docents and guides trained to conduct the tours this will allow History Center staff more opportunity to provide effective educational programming to the children.
