DULUTH CHILDRENS MUSEUM INC
Sparking the curiosity of children through exhibits and education programs that promote hands-on learning.
Duluth Children’s Museum is a place where children begin their lifelong exploration of an ever-expanding world. Exhibit and education programs at the Duluth Children’s Museum emphasize hands-on exploration. From the A View from Space exhibit that enables young visitors a chance to see the world from a satellite's perspective to the lively Books Alive! dramatic story hour series, the museum’s age-appropriate services contribute to success in school and pave the way for a life-long interest in cultural experiences.
There are no “don’t touch” signs at the Duluth Children’s Museum. Children touch, push, or sit on exhibit components, they make the sound of a ship’s horn, they create a colorful mask and they observe the antics of a hedgehog. We give our young visitors a sensory-filled museum experience that is unforgettable and we support parents and caregivers in their work to help children discover their place in the world.
Duluth Children’s Museum is committed to keeping its programs accessible to all children. Passport to Culture, a membership service for low-income families, is eliminating financial barriers and enabling children and their caregivers living in poverty year-round access to Duluth Children’s Museum’s creative learning experiences.
Exciting developments are coming as the Duluth Children’s Museum prepares to move to a new facility. We are purchasing and renovating a building at 2907 Helm Street in west Duluth and the new facility, featuring much larger exhibit and education areas and a rooftop garden, will open in 2011.
