Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center
A US registered nonprofit

Detroit Lakes, MN
The Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center provides quality experiences to learn, grow and play.

Since opening its doors in 2001, the DLCCC has become a vital part of life in the lakes area, providing children, adults and seniors a place to expand their minds, improve health and wellness and enjoy a physically and mentally stimulating environment.

The abandoned Holmes Junior High, which was built in the 1930s, has been renovated and become a regional cultural center presenting dozens of performing and visual arts events each year. The Historic Holmes Theatre has hosted more than 120,000 audience members for live stage performances since the center has opened. The Historic Holmes Theatre's "Discovery Series" allows regional school children to attend daytime shows at a reduced rate. "Arts on the Go" is an art outreach program providing projects such as "Mosaic Mania" and "Mobile in Motion" to thousands of school children each year at no cost.

A 60,000 square foot state of the art fitness and aquatic center is located adjacent to the theatre. It features an eight-lane competitive pool, a zero-entry pool, a three-lane indoor track, two basketball courts, two racquetball courts, a fitness studio, weight and cardio areas and much more.

The center also includes rental spaces for weddings and conferences, a senior nutrition center, daycare facilities and the Detroit Lakes Area Learning Center.

What was once a dream is now a one-of-a-kind facility serving the physical and cultural needs of people of the region. The DLCCC is the most visited public building in the city of Detroit Lakes. The organization reaches out to the community by providing more than $10,000 in scholarships to the economically disadvantaged each year. We also support other area non-profits through free and reduced rental rates.

Your help is needed to ensure our doors remain open to people of all social and economic backgrounds and that we can continue to meet the cultural and physical needs of the people of Becker County and the surrounding area.
