Crow River Habitat for Humanity

Crow River Habitat for Humanity, Inc. works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life and belief systems to build or renovate simple, decent, affordable housing for people in need in McLeod County, Minnesota.

Habitat for Humanity is a people-to-people partnership drawing families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing with people in need of adequate shelter.

We are committed to the development and uplifiting of families and communities, not only to the construction of houses.

Houses are not given to anyone. Habitat for Humanity builds houses with people in need and then sells the houses to homeowner partners through no-profit loans. Because houses are built principally by volunteers, mortgage payments can be kept reasonable to those unable to obtain conventional financing. Habitat homeowners typically have incomes that are 25% to 50% of the median income in the area. They are required to invest hundreds of hours in "sweat equity" -- that is, time spent building their own home or other Habitat houses.

OUR HOME

A house can be built by anyone. Lumber, nails, screws, wires and paint.
But with each pound of the hammer, each screw that was drilled, it was backed by your compassion, dedication, and time, those of which do not come measured by inches or feet.
For you created not a house, but a Home for us.

Blessings to all, and to their families who gave of themselves.
From doing the framework, to building the cabinets, to installing the flooring,
to painting the walls, to installing the wiring, to answering questions in the office, e-mail or by phone, we thank you all.

With each lock of the key, each goodnight kiss to our children in their new rooms, we will be reminded of the heart that went into providing us
with our new Home.
