Donations will teach students peaceful ways for resolving differences by training staff on the “Restorative Justice” problem solving model.
“We have a diverse population with many academic and behavioral needs. Our peacemaking efforts build a community in which students feel safe and comfortable. This helps them become more successful academically and reduces behavior conflicts.” – an excerpt from a Cowern Elementary on the contributions it received for the 2009-2010 school year.
“While volunteering at Cowern, I have noticed how children of all ages display mutual respect, and are learning valuable life skills daily in their peace groups and class room,” wrote Rachel, a parent of a student at Cowern.
“I believe that Cowern Elementary should continue to be funded by Peace Maker Foundation. They are doing a fantastic job creating a peaceful environment for all our children,” continued Rachel, “I’m sure that their peace education programs have made a difference in many lives. Their efforts are sure to be carried on beyond the Cowern Community.”
Because Peace Maker Foundation operating expenses are paid for by separate donations, 100% of what you contribute will help Cowern’s peacemaking efforts.
Peace Maker Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that raises contributions to support school violence prevention programs. Our goal is for every school to be able to teach conflict resolution skills and be safe places for kids. Thank you for your help with this effort.
