For 87 years, the College of Visual Arts has been committed to the integration of academic excellence and artistic achievement. Over the course of our history, from the Mills College of Art and Advertising to the School of Associated Arts to the College of Visual Arts, every graduating class has gone on to exercise their talents within the communities they live and work benefitting all of us.

Students today are no different. Their academic achievements will grow into brighter, more creative, future enterprises than we can currently imagine. But not without a little help from each of us.

CVA students graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design, illustration, photography, fine arts, and interdisciplinary design studies. The fine arts degree offers concentrations in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The interdisciplinary art and design studies degree offers a concentration in fashion.

The mission of the College of Visual Arts is to provide a collaborative environment that focuses on individual student development by fully integrating the study of the liberal arts and the visual arts. We cultivate a worldview that recognizes the value of art and design in promoting pride in place and responsible global citizenship.
