I am running the 2011 Twin Cities Marathon on behalf of TCR, an organization that helps those living in deep poverty change their lives.
October 2, 2011 I will be running my second marathon. Last year I ran and finished the Denver Rock & Roll Marathon. This year I have decided to run the Twin Cities Marathon. Born and raised in Minnesota, it has always been a dream of mine to run the Twin Cities Marathon (just like my mom did when I was a little girl). And instead of running it for myself, I decided to run on behalf of Twin Cities RISE! Twin Cities RISE! is an amazing organization that provides a 12 to 18 month work skills and personal empowerment training program for adults living in deep poverty so that at the end of the program they have full-time, living wage jobs with benefits. This is an incredible organization that helps so many people completely change their lives for the better.
I would greatly appreciate any and all support in my marathon fundraiser for this amazing organization. As I spend these next few months lacing up my shoes and enduring the heat and many miles of running to train for the Twin Cities Marathon, my motivation will be the people of poverty working so hard to change their lives and all of the people who are helping them to do so. You can help too by donating to this incredible cause--anything and everything helps!
Thank you so much for your support and on October 2, 2011, I will be running 26.2 miles in honor of each and every one of you and on behalf of Twin Cities RISE! and the marathons so many people of poverty face when they decide change their lives for the better.
