CHISAGO COUNTY PARKS AND TRAILS FOUNDATION

The Chisago County Parks and Trails Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer led organization working to promote and develop trails with the county. Formed over a decade ago, we remain a small group with big dreams. Please donate to our active project - The Swedish Immigrant Trail - a 22 mile multi-use trail connecting the historic towns of Taylor's Falls, Shafer, Center City, Lindstrom, Chisago City and Wyoming. With approximately 4 miles built, including a recent stretch in Shafer, much hard work and over 18 miles remain to connect the Sunrise Prairie Trail, the Chisago Lakes Area and Interstate State Park. With the support of area residents, businesses, institutions and government agencies, we raised over $100,000 as a local match to fund construction of the Sunrise Prairie Trail in 1998. We can do it again for the Swedish Immigrant Trail. If you've been on the MS150 Tram in recent years, or ridden the Adventure Cycling Northern Tier Route, you've seen the beauty of Chisago County.
