The Founder’s Fund for Program Development enables CGE to continue developing programs that meet the needs of a changing world.
From driving a group of students to Mexico in 1979 for CGE’s first semester program to establishing the Center for Global Education (CGE) in 1982, founder Joel Mugge’s vision was the driving force behind the growth of CGE’s initial work. Established in 1998 in honor of Joel Mugge, the Founder’s Fund for Program Development enables CGE to respond to a changing world. This fund enables the Center to continue developing programs that meet the needs of a changing world, through establishing programs in new locations, developing new initiatives for current program locations, or training staff to meet new challenges.
Since those initial years, CGE now has permanent locations in 6 countries in Central America, Southern Africa, and Mexico. Academic programs have served over 2400 student from more than 300 different colleges/universities and almost 15,000 people have participated on over 1000 international travel seminars to more than 40 countries, deepening their understanding of global citizenship and broadening their worldviews.
Thursday, November 14 is Give to the Max Day, the Great Minnesota Give Together, so please consider making your donations on this day to help Augsburg College come in 1st place among all Minnesota colleges and universities to win an extra prize. Thank you for supporting us. Your partnership will ensure that the vision and programs of the Center endure and thrive into the future.
