In 2011, Central MN Sexual Assault Center responded to 285 new cases of sexual assault. 211 of those new cases were between age 1 and 29.
CMSAC is a 24-hour crisis intervention agency providing direct services to those individuals who have been affected by any form of sexual violence. The Center's purpose is to provide non-judgmental direct services to victims of sexual assault, their partners, families, coworkers and friends. CMSAC provides free and confidential services to individuals and organizations within Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Wright Counties of Central Minnesota. CMSAC is in collaboration with community groups and professional agencies to continue to work toward an increased social awareness of sexual assault through victim centered services that are sensitive to the needs of each individual. CMSAC strives to provide victims information on their rights and options with the focus on healing and recovery. It is a goal of the agency to educate and provide factual information, challenge attitudes and beliefs that make up a rape culture, and ultimately to eradicate sexual violence.
