Central High School Parent Advisory Council
PAC raises funds to benefit the students & staff at St. Paul Central. Help us continue the good work we do for the vibrant Central community
PAC is an informal group of parents, guardians and community members whose goal is to support the whole Central community.
We do this by raising and distributing funds, occasionally organizing parent volunteers, and finding ways to show our continuing appreciation of Central’s wonderful team of teachers and administrators.
PAC funds are distributed as follows. First, Central staff members make requests of PAC. We approve or deny those requests at meetings with guidance from Central administrators. PAC funds often supplement the school budget in ways that directly impact the student experience.
In 2011-2012, PAC funded over 25 requests. In the past, PAC has paid for things like student planners, bus tokens for students who stay after school for tutoring, new bike racks, new signs for the school and many essential classroom materials like: atlases, white boards, foreign language videos, and sheep brains for biology!
PAC also pays for meals for Central staff during conferences and for several treats throughout the school year. This helps build community and goodwill and helps our hardworking staff prepare for conferences.
Saint Paul Central High School is the oldest high school in the state of Minnesota. Its many rich traditions, including academic excellence, are widely acclaimed. Central is a model for public education serving diverse populations.
PAC helps make Central an even better place.
During the past year, PAC started a new site improvement initiative to improve the quality and functionality of the exterior spaces of the school grounds. We have been collaborating with the Metropolitan Design Center and the Capitol Region Watershed District to find ways to improve Central High School. Stay tuned!
