Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of St. Cloud

The Catholic Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation that was created as a direct outgrowth of Bishop Kinney’s Living the Promise campaign of 2001-02. It was established as an independent, charitable foundation responsible for raising, managing, and distributing philanthropic funds to provide long term, sustainable support for the parishes, schools, agencies and life-changing ministries across the 16 counties of the Diocese of Saint Cloud.

The Foundation has over $16 million in assets, out of which a portion generates interest that is used to support diocesan seminarian education, Catholic schools and faith formation programs. The Foundation awards annual grants through both direct distribution and via grant requests. This year, more than $194,000 was distributed to schools and parishes to assist with the ever increasing cost of tuition and to aid in updating technology and curriculum for religious education programming.

Over 35 parishes, schools and organizations have established funds within The Catholic Foundation, including cemetery funds, education funds and other funds which enable them to provide support to their faith communities.

Overall, the Foundation has given more than $1 million toward Catholic education through schools and parish faith formation programs since its inception in 2005.
