The Cathedral Heritage Foundation is a nonreligious, community group supporting historical preservation, plus music, art & cultural events.
We are asking for your help to finish our historic pipe organ restoration project at the Cathedral of Saint Paul. The historic E.M. Skinner and Aeolian-Skinner pipe organs are integral to this landmark's mission of fostering great music both in liturgies and in public concerts. Try to imagine a Cathedral event without the grand sound of the pipe organs? And now listen to what our organs could sound like in our video.
We hope this inspires you to give today as we build toward a grand crescendo -- with completion of this project by April 2013.
The Cathedral of Saint Paul is a popular destination for local students and artists as well as for tourists from around the world. It is included on the National Register for Historic Buildings and draws well over 200,000 visitors a year.
The Cathedral Heritage Foundation hosts world class music events with the Minnesota Orchestra, the University of Minnesota Choirs, VocalEssence, Cambridge Choir of King's College and others. We host an annual Cathedral Community Family Day, a festive open house with costumed tour guides, art and science projects, exhibits, and organ demonstrations. And most importantly, we oversee the historical restoration and preservation work to gurantee the Cathedral will be standing for another century!
Come take a tour or attend a concert. And please give a donation on Give to the MAX day!
