CARMEN PAMPA FUND

The UAC-CP is internationally recognized for both its unique approach and ability to address and dissipate root causes of poverty. On May 3, 2011, the UAC model was recognized by the Education Committee of the Bolivian national legislature for its work to promote sustainable development throughout the country and provide higher education to the country’s most marginalized population.

The five degree-granting programs in Agronomy, Nursing, Ecotourism, Veterinary Science, and Education prepare Bolivian men and women to work as professionals and contribute to positive economic and social development in the rural sector--one of the poorest in Latin America. (To date, we're proud that more than 50% of our graduates are women!)

Despite the success of the College's academic programs and commitment to service, production, and research for Bolivia's rural area, students at the College are faced with huge and difficult challenges. Many, for example, are forced to choose between paying for tuition and paying for food.

Financial support from Carmen Pampa Fund primarily helps pay for general operating costs at the College--faculty and staff salaries, food cooperative assistance, Internet, and student scholarships.
