The UAC-CP has been internationally recognized for both its unique approach and ability to address and dissipate root causes of poverty. The five degree-granting programs in Agronomy, Nursing, Ecotourism, Veterinary Science, and Education prepare poor Bolivian men and women to work as professionals and contribute to positive development in the rural sector.
The College's curriculum includes five key areas:
1. Rigorous academic studies;
2. Extension programs that provide practical experience for UAC-CP students and services for poor farmers and their families;
3. Production projects that provide practical hands-on experience for students and generate a source of sustainable income for the College;
4. Research projects that seek solutions for common problems facing rural communities;
5. An integrated ethics and morality component that incorporates core values into professional work and personal lives.
In 2003, in recognition of their important work, a United Nations Subcommittee designated the College as one of the seven most effective initiatives and replicable models worldwide for the eradication of poverty.

It transforms the lives of Bolivians through education. It has earned a "Best Practices" award from a United Nations subcommittee. This is a "Wow! Great bang for the buck" organization for me.
