This will cover new shelving, walls, insulation, heating, electrical, a food scale and other necessary equipment

The need for Sibley County FoodShare services continues to grow. There is a direct correlation between the recent increase in under-employment/unemployment and the households served at Sibley County FoodShare. Many are one event (a car repair, hospital bill, prescription, etc.) away from not being able to purchase enough food to feed their famiy.

Why we need a larger building: Demand for food assistace has increased by 263% in the last 10 years and our current building does not have enough space to accomodate our needs. Currently inadequate storage space is limiting the FoodShare from taking advantage of free or reduced cost food. More space is needed to accomodate food distribution, receiving and sorting. In addition, more space is needed to provide adequate space for additional refrigerator and freezers.
