Join us for the Spring Fundraising event- a great opportunity to meet BMTC group volunteers, members and speakers. The event is scheduled for Sat. Apr 16th 2011 from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm at Davannis in Eden Prairie-8061 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-5322.
There will be door prizes, entertainment and a books-and-toys drive. In addition, two workshops have been organized to help attendees spring back to a fresh and healthy lifestyle.
Donations from this fundraiser will be crucial in launching a reading club for professional and personal growth, expanding the ongoing no-cost online seminars and sustaining programs organized by the group for the community.

11:15 am- 12:00 noon- Workshop I: Ayurveda-Know Your Body Type by Asavari Manvikar, B.A.M.S., MD.
Discover your unique body type (constitution) that is like a fingerprint and remains unchanged throughout your life.Knowing your body type will help you understand how your body functions and how to create a personalized change in diet, habits and lifestyle for optimal balance.
Asavari Manvikar completed her classical Ayurveda education in Pune, India in 2000. Prior to coming to the U.S., she ran her own Ayurveda medical clinic in Pune, and also taught Ayurveda at an Ayurveda College and Research Center. In the U.S., she conducts workshops and seminars at various community centers, yoga studios and other locations with a primary focus on education and increasing awareness about Ayurveda.

12:30pm- 1:00 pm- Book and toys drive: This is a great opportunity for spring cleaning your home and donating books and toys that are in good condition. Support the cause by buying items from the drive. Unsold items will be donated to PROP
1:00pm- 2:00 pm: Workshop II - Healthy Communication: Understanding and Respecting Differences, by Debra Orbuch Grayson, M.S., LMFT
This workshop will explore communication and help participants learn and practice reflective listening. This program will also address differences in communication styles and provide tools for addressing conflict in relationships.
Debra holds a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland – College Park and a Bachelors Degree in Education and Behavioral Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Debra has been working with families and children for 25 years providing individual, marital, family and group therapy. Debra enjoys blending her clinical skills with her experience as an educator. She has worked with adolescents in a variety of academic and clinical outpatient settings. Debra currently works in an Alternative High School (ALC) providing therapy and developing groups and trainings to meet the changing needs of adolescents aged 16-20.
Children will engage in arts and crafts projects and will enjoy lunch with parents
