Thank you for taking a step of faith and making a gift to the "Show Me Your Glory! campaign.
Welcome to “Show Me Your Glory!”
“Why another campaign?” we asked God. Then God flashed a picture of an ox in our heads. Now, we had to ask three more questions, “An ox? What? Why?” Then we understood. Ancient farmers needed oxen. Even though oxen are continually costly and constantly messy, they create a larger harvest. Our building is like an ox. It is continually costly (and messy). But it is creating a larger harvest!
“Opening New Doors” was our first capital campaign towards purchasing a building. God showed us His glory through the generous gifts of $2,164,300 even though we had not identified a building to purchase. When Trinity School became available, we were ready. We bought the ox!
“On the Move” was our second capital campaign. Again God showed us his glory through receiving $2,040,332 in the middle of the “great recession.” God used this campaign to pay loans and renovate our building, turning an ‘ugly duckling’ into a ‘swan!’ We dressed the ox!
“Show Me Your Glory!” is our third capital campaign. Now we need to care for the ox. There are two financial components to this campaign.
1. Critical repair and replacement work on the building that if not completed, will make our building uninhabitable and illegal in violation of city code.
2. Mortgage payments. While we have been blessed with increased giving to our general operating fund, we still do not have enough cash flow to cover our entire annual mortgage payment.
Unfortunately our operating budget cannot absorb these expenses without reducing staff and cutting important ministry efforts, dramatically changing our church life. However, if God provides abundantly through this fund drive and there is moderate growth in general fund giving, then we can be done with building campaigns! Hooray! We can then focus future fund-raising efforts on new church plants and community-serving efforts such as Love INC.
