A US registered nonprofit

MINNEAPOLIS, MN
Bedlam is not only adventurous, original theater - but a fantastic community framework and a welcoming, exciting social experience.

Thank's for thinking of Bedlam.  Grassroots, community support - including your financial contributions - have been the magic of Bedlam's momentum all along.  No gift is too big or too small.  Working together, this is how we make it!

Bedlam's mission is to produce radical works of theater with a focus on collaboration and a unique blend of community and professional art.

Since 1993 Bedlam's claimed the outer edge of the local imagination.  Onstage this ranges from musical theater to raving absurdism, outdoor fire spectacle to community ten-minute play festival, one night cabarets to long-runs with cult followings.

Since 2005, Bedlam's experienced exponential growth with increasing local and national recognition for our strides in civic engagement, social experience and appeal to a new audience for the theater.

These days at Bedlam you'll find a contant offering of theater, cabaret, music, food, drink, community.  We produce a half dozen new works and host a dozen more guest productions every year, scores of bands, bustling monthly cabarets, community meetings, classes, work with the city on bicycle and green-living initiatives, we're expanding the network of art programs for neighborhood youth in Cedar Riverside, taking theater outdoors, and serving you a healthy, hearty menu of local ingredients into the wee hours 6 days a week.

This is how it grows from the mission.  Radical means addressing root causes and changing routine.  As artists, our main tool is imagination - in a range from insight to absurdity, we create opportunities for artists and audience alike to re-imagine themselves and society.  Collaborative exdends both to how we work together as artists as well as how we as aritsts work with our context and our society.  Blending Professional and Community we strive to not only support visionary performing artists but to build a deeply engaged audience as well.  Together we build community in, around and through our creative work from direct engagement to informal access to socio/political analysis.

In the end Bedlam's not just something you see.  It's something you do, its somewhere to be.  And it relies on you - in so many many ways.

Thanks for coming to GiveMN today to support Bedlam and all the other fantastic organizations that help make this the Minnesota we love.
